All-Female Irish Choir Performs Chilling Rendition Of 'Danny Boy'

Check out this talented Irish choir perform a chilling rendition of the song ‘Danny Boy.’

“Oh, Danny Boy, the pipes, the pipes are calling, from glen to glen, and down the mountain side,
The summer’s gone and all the roses falling, it’s you, it’s you must go and I must bide.
But come ye back when summer’s in the meadow,
Or when the valley’s hushed and white with snow, it’s I’ll be here in sunshine or in shadow,
Oh, Danny Boy, oh Danny boy I love you so!”

The singers in this video are the Choral Scholars from the University College Dublin. Their voices are just angelic, with such pure tones and tight harmonies. It is absolutely heavenly to hear them sing.

“Beautifully arranged and performed, conveying so much heartfelt emotion. Thanks for such a superb recording!” one person comments on YouTube after watching the video.

“Spectacular and beautiful in every way. Took my breath away. Bravo,” another person writes online.

When it comes to the history of this beloved song, Frederic Edward Weatherly is to thank for the lyrics to ‘Danny Boy.’ He penned the first two stanzas of the song in 1910, but the lyrics did not find their musical counterpart until a couple of years later. It was Frederic’s Irish sister-in-law who had sent him the folk tune hoping that he would put lyrics to it.

But the origins of the music are somewhat of a mystery. Some say that a Celtic harpist played it as early as the 1600s, while others say it originated in the Scottish Highlands.

However the song originated, it remains true that it has always been hauntingly beautiful! And it will continue to be a favorite to many for years and years to come.

We hope that you enjoyed listening to this Irish choir perform their wonderful rendition of ‘Danny Boy’ today!

'LION' Elevation Worship Live Performance With Chris Brown And Brandon Lake

Check out this live performance of the new song called ‘LION’ by Elevation Worship featuring Chris Brown And Brandon Lake.

“God of Jacob, Great I Am, King of Angels, Son of Man
Voice of many waters, Song of heaven’s throne
Louder than the thunder, make Your glory known
Hail hail Lion of Judah, let the Lion roar”

This powerful worship song was written by Steven Furtick, Brandon Lake, and Chris Brown. And many people online shared about how impactful the song is for them.

“Can't stop listening to this song. It is such a massive reminder of the power of the God we serve,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the music video.

“Oh, I can't get enough of this song, my heart is so lifted. I am singing at the top of my lungs! I see Him as a lion, in His glory, and it fills the earth. Thank you so much for this song. It’s everything and more!” writes another person online.

The song ‘LION’ is part of Elevation Worship’s new album which is of the same title. On the cover art of the album there is a meek and spotless lamb.

Chris Brown shares about the contradiction of Christ in a recent interview about the new song. “There’s a lyric in the song ‘LION’ that says, ‘Like a lamb you suffered, but the Lion has arisen. In the wildest plot twist, Jesus conquers death once and for all, but instead of doing it by a forceful takeover, He conquers through crucifixion,” he says. “The Lion conquers by suffering as a sacrificial lamb.”

We hope that you enjoyed listening to ‘LION’ by Elevation Worship today and it was able to bring you some encouragement. May you be blessed and reminded of the power and love that is found in Jesus Christ!
