There is nothing quite like a family of talent. In this video, a family band performs “Why Me Lord” by Kris Kristofferson.
Settled in a cozy living room with their guitars and piano, one boy begins to sing. His bass voice is very impressive. The girls come in with harmonies with the lead singer, and they all shine.
Their twang and mesh are beautiful. The group each has shining moments. The lead sounds very similar to a modern-day Johnny Cash. They are fantastic story tellers.
The chorus says:
“Lord help me Jesus, I’ve wasted it,
So help me Jesus, I know what I am.
And now that I know that I need you,
So help me Jesus, my soul’s in your hand.”
They are telling a testimony of being in need of the saving grace of Jesus. As they do so, it is beautiful and professional. They all have incredible talents. The best part of this is that the song has an impactful message.
They are ministering through their gifts to tell people that they have learned that Jesus is the Way and that He is the keeper of our souls. No matter what mistakes we have made, His forgiveness is more than enough for us, and His sacrifice is perfect to cover all of our sins, past, present, and future. We can celebrate this today and every day.
Maybe you are struggling with guilt or shame today. We all have regrets. We are all sinful people. However, we do not have to live in bondage to sin anymore. We have freedom because of Christ. May this song be a reminder to you of His great grace and mercy.
“Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6
