As I was getting ready to transition from finishing up devotionally studying through the gospel of Luke to starting a study in the book of Colossians (in the weekly email devotionals with my Music Tribe), I was stirred to write a worshipful song to go with it, based on the truths we find in Colossians. • (Colossians 1:16-17) He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation. For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him • (Colossians 1:19-20) For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, making peace by the blood of his cross. • (Colossians 2:13-14) And you, who were dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made alive together with him, having forgiven us all our trespasses, by canceling the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands. This he set aside, nailing it to the cross. • (Colossians 3:5a) Put to death therefore what is earthly in you • (Colossians 3:14-15) And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful. • (Colossians 2:10) And you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority. • (Colossians 1:23a) if indeed you continue in the faith, stable and steadfast, not shifting from the hope of the gospel that you heard • (Colossians 2:6-7) Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith • (Colossians 4:6) Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person • (Colossians 4:2-3) Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ

A joyful prayer for marriage: servant-hearted love, gentle words in conflict, covenant faithfulness, and unity in Christ that points others to God.

"May Our Marriage" was written as a prayer of gratitude for the gift of marriage and a desire to honor God within it. It originated as a poem I wrote years ago and decided to convert it into a song. This song reflects biblical themes of servant-hearted love, gentleness in conflict, covenant faithfulness, and unity in Christ, pointing to marriage as a living testimony of God’s love to the world, just as the apostle Paul equated marriage relationship to the relationship between Jesus and His Church/Bride.

This Hallelujah praise chorus blends well known hymns, Amazing Grace and Jesus Loves Me. The word hallelujah means “God be praised” and is used throughout poems and songs as an expression of worship and rejoicing. When really pondering and meditating on the truths written in these two hymns, of God’s amazing grace and His love for us, it should cause us to overflow and exclaim worship to God…HALLELUJAH!

As I sat with my guitar one day, I began just playing and singing to the Lord. Nothing written or any real “song”, just playing and singing whatever came into my heart to sing to Him. After a little while, I kept coming back to this same repeated section: “Jesus, You’re the Name above all names. Jesus, there is power in Your Name. Jesus, I’m a sinner but You love me anyway. There’s salvation found in no other name.” and it was so soothing and yet so powerfully edifying to my spirit. I started actively writing the verses and God gave me the vision of what Revelation describes with all His redeemed from every tribe, tongue, peoples, and nations worshipping Him. I don’t know many other languages, but I started singing Jesus in Hebrew and Spanish, and then began looking up how to say Jesus in other languages. That is where the bridge came from, Jesus’ Name in 6 different languages, with a choir of His people all praising His Name in their own tongue.

This song was originally written with my family’s own experiences of how God has provided for us from surviving when it didn’t make sense on paper to calling us to move to a place we couldn’t afford to help a new church plant, yet this song in particular, God has been proving His Name over and over and over again in so many areas of life. It doesn’t matter what you’re facing, God sees your needs and He provides for His children. It may not look like what you expect or be given how and when you expect, but you can trust that He will provide in His will, His way, and His time. Keep praying and believe that the God who feeds the birds and clothes the flowers, will indeed meet your needs. Resolve to walk in the works He’s prepared for you to do by seeking His kingdom first, and He will add those things unto you.

The very first verse in the Bible, Genesis 1:1, says, “In the beginning God [Elohim] created the heavens and the earth”. Elohim is a plural noun in speaking of a singular God, which expresses the three persons of the God head, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each day as He created all things, it repeatedly says, “and God saw that it was good.” It was from this, the way He created everything to be and the reflection on the fact that He still created us knowing mankind would fall, that this song was written from. God knew the chasm that the sin of mankind would create, and He had created a plan of redemption before the foundations of the earth. Jesus Christ, His perfect plan and Savior, the second in the Godhead, was the good and perfect sacrifice for us. God is good, all that He created was good, and His plan of redemption through Jesus was good.

This song was written during intense chronic illness yet in full surrender to our Healer - praying for healing and being content to rest in God's sovereignty whether I was healed or not, because God is good no matter the circumstance.

This is an upbeat anthemic song declaring thanks to God for not only the good things, but for the hard things and the future gifts He will bring. With a primary focus on 1 Thessalonians 5:18 to give thanks to God in all circumstances because that is part of the will of God for us, this song will have you dancing around and singing, "𝙏𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙠 𝙮𝙤𝙪, 𝙂𝙤𝙙" as you overflow with gratitude to God throughout your day!

He Restores My Soul is a reminder that even when the enemy tries to entangle us in fear, lies, and mental battles, we are not without refuge. We can run to God. We can anchor ourselves in His Word. And we can trust that He is actively restoring, healing, and holding us in His peace—day by day, step by step. This song isn’t just about healing that has already happened; it’s also about trusting God with the healing still to come, fixing our eyes on Him, and resting in the truth that His mercies are new every morning.

This song was written at the end of a long season in my healing journey—a season where I was finally ready not only to release my abusers, but to move forward in life without what they had done continuing to cast a shadow over me. For a long time, I couldn’t get out from under the weight of their actions or the lasting effects it had on my life. I hated them. I didn’t want them to receive salvation—I wanted them to suffer at least as much as they had made me suffer. But God had a better way. And in the end, I loved God more than I hated them, so I chose to follow His lead. What began as a reluctant willingness to pray for my abusers slowly turned into forgiveness. And eventually, God did something I never expected—He gave me a desire for their salvation. He worked powerfully in my heart during this season, and when this song was written, I knew I was ready to fully and completely release them. I don’t know if any of my abusers will ever hear this song or read these words. But if they did, I would want them to know this: God loves you. God wants you. And while what you did caused deep harm and stole my voice for a long time, you did not get the final word. I still sing. Because God heals—even the deepest wounds caused by the most vile sins committed against me. What was meant for evil has been redeemed and used for good. I have been restored. I have been made whole.

This song was years in the making. Thomas Roy "Suicide Tom" Watkins died from Congestive Heart Failure in the early morning hours of April 1, 2003, just 6 days shy of his 45th birthday. He lived in Watsonville, California, and I lived in Capitola. I ran a karaoke show around Santa Cruz County, and Tom set up the shows for me. He got his nickname by letting the karaoke DJs pick his songs. He did songs like “Barbie Girl” and “Man I Feel Like A Woman”, and people loved it. Imagine hearing the man in the image on the screen singing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. He brought life to every show. And then, he got sick. I wasn’t familiar with the symptoms of Congestive Heart Failure back then, but I knew he wasn’t simply suffering from a flu. So On March 21, 2003, a buddy and I took Tom to the ER at Dominican Hospital. The doctor had an x-ray and EKG done, and told Tom his heart was enlarged. Tom told him that enlarged hearts ran in his family. I now know that Congestive Heart Failure can be diagnosed with x-rays and EKGs, because my mother had it, and as her care giver, I was with her when they told her about that, and about her A Fib, and Coronary Artery Disease. But Tom’s doctor said nothing about Congestive Heart Failure. He stuck to the enlarged heart narrative - which was deceptive, since the autopsy showed that his heart was two and a half times the size of a normal heart. But then, Tom didn’t have insurance; so he was turned away in his hour of need. Ten days later, he was dead, and he didn’t have to be. He could have been saved, if only for a short time. And this was a Catholic hospital letting that man go to his death. Of course, the doctor may not have shared that ideology. Either way, even though they swept it under the carpet, and never answered for this crime, they still have to face the ultimate judge. They can’t hide from Him.

About the Song: The Journey on the Ark is a song about caring and loving in a deeper way — more than simply sharing life with someone. It is about loving enough to desire that the souls of those we cherish become our companions on life’s journey. The Ark in the song symbolizes the boat of grace of our Lord Jesus Christ — just as Noah’s Ark was salvation for a few from the waters of judgment. It represents protection, direction, and eternal security. The song is both an invitation and a declaration of love. It is the invitation of someone who longs to walk through life together — and also the invitation of the Bridegroom who calls His bride to journey with Him into eternity. “Join me on the journey on the ark” is therefore more than a romantic phrase. It is a spiritual call — to share not only life, but salvation and hope in the Hereafter.
