I love to say that God will be real with us when we are real with Him. This raw, real confession of need poured out after I had done some concerts in juvenile detention centers. I often share songs and my story in facilities like this, but this particular week I had done 3 such concerts. I was overwhelmed by the need in the world; the vast pain that can be held in a young persons' heart. I have a toy soldier on my keychain to remind me that I'm a warrior in Christ, which means I am to fight the good fight and work to bring love, peace, and goodness to my life and lives of those around me. I've been carrying my toy soldier on my key chain around with me for over a decade now, and there he was, sitting on my piano, starin' at me. Even Jesus wept; and was spent at times. If you listen, you can hear the divine heartfelt reply in the precious vulnerability of the question itself. YES - I am here!

One day I heard some "easy-listening" music and thought I could write music like that. So I began this piece. However, it turned out very dynamic and not at all in the genre of easy-listening! I never could think of an adequate title, so It remains "Untitled".

This set of seven pieces for piano solo is based on my family members' favorite songs. This 7th Chorale Etude stretches out the tune over the whole piece as does the first one. The category for my music is Art Music.
This set of seven pieces for piano solo is based on my family members' favorite songs. I chose this tune for my brother who died just after birth. This 6th Chorale Etude has the tune mostly hidden. Nearly every note on the piano is played. The category for my music is Art Music.
This set of seven pieces for piano solo is based on my family members' favorite songs. This 5th Chorale Etude is a series of very strange canons, using m2 and M2 extensively. Except when the Chorale enters, it is hard to hear any beat. The category for my music is Art Music.
This set of seven pieces for piano solo is based on my family members' favorite songs. This 3rd Chorale Etude secretly introduces a varied fragment of the tune. Later the full tune breaks out into a totally dynamic, virtuosic rendition. The category for my music is Art Music.
