“Where the unfulfilled are satisfied
And the unknown scars are reconciled
There’s an open door to brand new life
Up close in the presence to the Savior”
For decades, Matt Maher has been a staple in the Christian music world. As a Grammy-nominated artist, he’s written and recorded multiple number one worship songs such as ‘Lord I Need You’ and ‘Because He Lives (Amen).’
Today, he’s teaming up with fellow Christian artists Ellie Holcomb and Ben Fuller for an inspiring performance of ‘In The Room.’
Just listen as they belt out these words of love and praise for our King.
“I just wanna be in the room
Wanna be in the room when You move
And I’m not leaving
Not leaving till You do”
On Instagram, Ben expressed his thanks and excitement for the song. “Don’t mind me, I’ll just be singing this all day since it’s OUT NOW! Go PRAISE GOD would you?!”
What a blessing to know that we are safe with the Lord by our side and He will walk with us each step of the way.
Who else is praising him out loud right now?
Colossians 1:27 “To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory”
Check out this video of three talented sisters singing ‘Miss Me But Let Me Go’ for a late friend.
“When I come to the end of the road of life and the sun has set for me
I want no rites in a gloom filled room, why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low
Remember the love that we once shared, miss me, but let me go.”
What a sweet and touching tribute to their late friend. In the video, the singing sisters are wearing all black dresses and white bonnets. And they are singing so beautifully while blending different harmonies together. Even without any instruments, the song sounds so full and amazing.
“Thank you for songs that touch us deep down. Keep on singing,” comments one person online after watching the video. “Man, they don't need any instruments. Their voices are amazing,” writes another person.
“The world needs more people like you,” comments yet another person on YouTube. “You are humble and using your incredible voices for God's glory. Just be yourself and keep on singing.”
As much as these three sisters are grieving the loss of their friend, they can find comfort in knowing that they will see them again one day in Heaven. Their friend is now at total peace and with Jesus. And what a wonderful feeling that must be!
It is sad when our loved ones leave this world, but we can rejoice in knowing that they have moved on to their eternal life with our Heavenly Father. And we will be able to see them again one day. We hope that you enjoyed this touching tribute of the song ‘Miss Me But Let Me Go’ by these three talented sisters!
You have to check out this mesmerizing vocal rendition of the iconic Titanic theme song.
“Every night in my dreams, I see you, I feel you, that is how I know you go on
Far across the distance, and spaces between us, you have come to show you go on
Near, far, wherever you are, I believe that the heart does go on, once more,
You open the door and you're here in my heart, and my heart will go on and on”
Whenever you hear that hauntingly beautiful melody, you can’t help but think of the movie Titanic, which was one of the biggest movies ever created in Hollywood. The all-star cast, incredible special effects, and stunning soundtrack really set the film apart. Psalm 96:11-12
Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad; let the sea resound, and all that is in it. Let the fields be jubilant, and everything in them; let all the trees of the forest sing for joy.
1 Corinthians 13: 1-2 New International Version (NIV):
If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.
Check out this toe-tapping rendition of ‘This Land Is Your Land’ from this talented Bluegrass family.
“As I was walking that ribbon of highway, I saw above me that endless skyway
I saw below me that golden valley, this land was made for you and me
This land is your land, this land is my land, from California to the New York island
From the redwood forest to the Gulf Stream waters, this land was made for you and me”
What a great performance of this iconic song! The group in this video is The Brandenberger Family, and their songs feature “Bluegrass harmonies in the style made popular by Ricky Skaggs, Ralph Stanley, Doyle Lawson, Woody Guthrie, and the Carter Family.”
In the caption for this YouTube video, the family writes: “People often ask questions about our family and friends who sing with us. With the world being what it is, we are hesitant to share a lot of information about us which most of you, (especially those of you with children) understand. With that being said, here we are sharing pictures of some of our travels as we sing Woodie Guthrie's This Land Is Your Land. We are not making any type of political statement but just encouraging you to go see this great country, for as the philosopher once said, travel kills prejudice! Enjoy the music and as always thanks for watching our videos!”
As the group sings ‘This Land Is Your Land,’ family photos from their travels around the country flash across the screen. They have been all over! From Crater Lake National Park, Mount Mitchell, North Cascades National Park, Mount Rainier National Park, Saguaro National Park, Olympic National Park, Capitol Reef National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and Yosemite National Park – just to name a few!
“You people are simply sensational. Your music is awesome. The scenery is astounding and beautiful. Your sweet blending voices are exceptionally fabulous,” comments one person on YouTube after watching the video.
What a great video showcasing the beauty around this country and highlighting the wonderful voices of The Brandenberger Family!
Check out this throwback performance of The Statement singing the song ‘I Walk With Jesus Each Day.’
What a great live performance! Now a little background on the singing group in this video.
The Statesmen Quartet, also known as Hovie Lister and The Statesmen Quartet, were a southern gospel quartet founded in 1948 by Baptist Minister and pianist Hovie Lister. The initial line-up of the group included Bobby Strickland singing tenor, Mosie Lister singing lead, Bervin Kendrick singing baritone, and Gordon Hill singing bass.
All of their voices blended together so nicely, and they gave such a great performance! Which is why The Statesmen Quartet was considered the most successful gospel quartet of the 1950s and 1960s and had a wide influence on artists during that time. The group also made television commercials, appeared on numerous radio and TV shows, and were the first Gospel group to receive endorsement deals.
In 1997, The Statesmen Quartet was elected into the Southern Gospel Music Hall of Fame. And then in 1998, they made it into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. By 2002, the group had retired.
These days, it is very hard to find popular Gospel groups that are still making music to encourage Christians. The music is more contemporary, yet still shares the same encouraging themes. It is nice though that these performances are still available to listen to styles of music that have since lost popularity.
No matter what type of music you prefer to listen to, old-fashioned Gospel music or contemporary Christian music, it all encourages us and reminds us of God’s love and promises. We hope that you enjoyed this performance from The Statesmen Quartet today!
1 John 2:5-6
But whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.
