Check out this new music video by Anne Wilson, ‘The Manger.’ It will no doubt become your favorite new Christmas song!
“They're puttin' decorations up in front of my old church.
The shepherds and the wise men and the hay
There's Joseph and his Mary lookin' down at Heaven's birth.
And the angel's sayin', "Don't you be afraid.”
It makes me stop and think about how You showed up down here. In a humble bed made of nails and wood
You could have picked a palace, somethin' more fit for a King. But then the story wouldn't be as good.”
In this festive video filmed in a recording studio, Anne Wilson is surrounded by musicians, and sound engineers, and Josh Turner makes a guest appearance to sing with her. It brings such joy to see what happens behind the scenes when music artists like Anne and Josh are in their creative element. I absolutely love how this song turned out as they mixed Anne’s graceful voice with Josh’s deep, distinct velvet voice.
Anne has a deep love for Jesus, which is evident throughout all of her music. She is known for her hit song, ‘My Jesus’ which was the hit that started her musical career after a tragic accident took her brother’s life.
Anne believes in the power of worshiping God in order to heal. She never imagined becoming a singer. In fact, she had no idea it was her calling until the day she sang at her brother’s funeral. Thank God for her voice and her refreshing and deep love for Jesus. Her songs, her voice, and her testimony point each of us to the loving arms of our amazing God.
We hope you enjoy this beautiful, upbeat performance by Anne Wilson and Josh Turner. May it make your Christmas celebration extra merry and bright.
“Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger,” Luke 2:11-12.
Lea Salonga sings ‘A Whole New World’ for the bride during the father-daughter dance, and it’s the best imaginable surprise for the bride.
This man definitely gets the father of the year award. On the day of his daughter Kaitlyn’s wedding, he had the most epic gift for his precious daughter in store with the person he invited to perform at the wedding.
There’s something about Disney movies and watching them with Dad. And some dads, like the father of the bride, grew to cherish these moments too.
In a speech, he recalls watching his daughter’s favorite Disney movies with her so often that even to this day, he could recite them word for word. But there was one movie that was his daughter Katilyn’s favorite, Aladdin. I imagine Dad thought it was special, too as he showed his daughter a whole new world as she grew up.
When the day came to walk his baby girl down the aisle, he knew he wanted to do something memorable for the father-daughter dance when Kaitlyn’s favorite move came to mind.
He arranged for Lea Salonga to come and sing “A Whole New World” for the special moment, and Kaitlyn had no idea. The expression on Kaitlyn’s face was one of knowing just how much her father loved her.
Lea then introduced herself, “If you don’t know who I am, my name is Lea Salonga, and I have done the singing voices of two Disney princesses, which is why I’m here,” she said.
Wrapped up in her daddy’s arms and being serenaded by her favorite Disney princess, Kaitlyn couldn’t hold back the tears. It is such an unbelievable moment they will treasure forever. Weddings are absolutely joyous occasions–but perhaps it’s a little hard on the father of the brides–but they will forever be daddy’s little girl.
“Then our sons in their youth will be like well-nurtured plants, and our daughters will be like pillars carved to adorn a palace.” Psalms 144:12
It is amazing how the name of Jesus is being proclaimed on national television. In this video, Jennifer Hudson sings a phenomenal rendition of “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”
Jennifer starts out by sharing how she would like to end the show by singing one of her favorite songs from Sister Act 2. She tells the audience that the song means a lot to her personally.
The audience cheers as she stands there next to a piano in a sparkly black dress with a white top mimicking a nun costume. She sits and begins to sing, “His Eye is on the Sparrow.”
As Jennifer begins to sing at the piano, she has such strength and authenticity. Her voice is powerful and pure. The audience cheers. She knows how to finesse the words and melodically wow the listener.
Jennifer sings the truth of God watching the birds, but how much more He is watching over us. I love how Jennifer is singing live with no autotune. She is singing purely from her heart and with such authenticity. She hits notes that wow the crowd and is filled with such passion.
Watching and listening to Jennifer sing this song leads us straight into worship with the Lord. It is incredibly honest and powerful. It is moving and leads us to praise our Savior and thank Him for watching over us.
It can be easy to forget that God sees us, but this song reminds us that He is always keeping His eye on us, and He loves us very much.
“Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father. But even the hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” Matthew 10:29-31
