Mother-Daughter Duet To 'I Will Always Love You'

Ella and Karolina Protsenko perform a mother-daughter duet to Dolly Parton’s 1974 hit, ‘I Will Always Love You.’

Dolly’s song has been a number-one classic hit when it comes to love. Originally written as a parting gift to her partner, Portner Wagner, her lyrics remind us all of what it means to be loved, seen, heard, and cherished. And Whitney Houston famously sang the song, which was featured in her 1992 film with Kevin Costner, The Body Guard.

But Ella and Karolina bring a whole new meaning to the song as they perform the song as a mother and daughter.

Their performance brought tears to my eyes. As a mother of two daughters, the bond and relationship with each of my girls is so incredibly special and unique. There isn’t anything I wouldn’t do for my girls.

And no matter what mistakes they make or the arguments we have–I will always love them. Even when there are days when I am exasperated over missing shirts or shoes they borrowed, hosting sparkly pink tea parties, or when I am comforting them over broken hearts–I will always, truly, and deeply thank God with gratitude for their wild-spirited hearts.

Watching Ella and Karolina perform this song reminds me of just that! It is truly amazing to watch this pair perform.  There is something truly incredible about the relationship between a mother and her daughter, and Karolina and Ella certainly have a special bond. Their performance of this song has amassed more than 365,600 views and over 992 comments about how beautiful their voices are.

Today, the pair put a whole new meaning to the classic love song ‘I Will Always Love You.’ It is definitely a must-see!

I hope their performance reminds you of just how special and remarkable love is–not to mention the joys (and even tribulations) of having daughters are.

Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old they will not turn from it,” Proverbs 22:6.

Are you ready to calm your anxious mind and focus on how amazing our creator God is? You’ll love the performance of ‘Like A River Glorious’ by Sounds Like Reign, who began making ‘Songs for the weary pilgrims on planet Earth.’

In the ‘About Us’ section of their YouTube, they share that Sounds Like Reign was created by composer Brackin Kirland. He is a sound engineer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist.

He also adds he has “...been saved by the grace of God and is compelled to draw others to Christ through personal story-telling and biblical narratives set to captivating music.” Lindsay is a wife and mother who loves ‘a simple, grounded aesthetic to the music.’

Together they have created a beautiful performance you don’t want to miss of the song, ‘Like A River Glorious.’ Their unique and simple style ushers in feelings of peace in the presence of God. I love how artists like Sounds Like Reign use their talents and calling to spread the joy, love, and peace of Jesus Christ. What a beautiful way to glorify God! Their performance is going viral with over 123,783!

I have a feeling it will be played millions of times. You can’t help but hum along!

Stayed upon Christ Jesus, Hearts are fully blest

Long lay the world in sin and error pining, ‘til He appeared and the soul felt its worth

Check out this beautiful cover of the song ‘Thank God’ performed by Lauryn Evans, Everly Fair, and Michael Warren.

“I was lost, you found a way to bring me back, needed forgiveness, you always gave me that
Girl, I’m a witness of your love ’cause you don’t be giving up, and it’s crazy, how you saved me
Hand on the Bible, don’t know how I got you, but I couldn’t ask for more
Girl, what we got’s worth thanking God for, so thank God”

In the music video, the three talented musicians are performing ‘Thank God’ in what appears to be an abandoned greenhouse. Lauryn Evans and Everly Fair are both singing and wearing yellow, and Michael Warren is singing and playing the guitar. All three of them are so talented and sound wonderful together!

The song ‘Thank God’ was originally by Kane Brown and his wife Katelyn. Each of them have expressed their thankfulness to God for bringing them into each other’s lives. "I keep telling everybody she's my secret weapon," Kane Brown shared. "But this song is just like us, you know? I feel like it's any relationship song, or anybody that's married or going to get married, that just knows it's like, 'God put you in my life for a reason.'"

The lyrics in ‘Thank God’ talk about getting to “wake up by your side and thank God” and having “your hand fits perfectly in mine and thank God.” What a sweet way to honor your marriage by writing a love song about your relationship!

Amy Grant - Grown-Up Christmas List

The perfect Christmas gifts under the tree this year all come from Amy Grant’s ‘Grown-up Christmas list. She sings the longings in our hearts.

“So here's my lifelong wish. My grown-up Christmas list. Not for myself, but for a world in need.No more lives torn apart. Then wars would never start. And time would heal all hearts. And every one would have a friend and right would always win, and love would never end.”

Can you imagine waking up to a Christmas where love has won the world over? The news would be filled with inspiring and heartwarming stories instead of wars, the pandemic, and senseless tragedies. Families would be together and children would grow up without anxiety and fear. Wouldn’t it be truly miraculous? Almost like heaven on earth. We can all take something from Amy’s song and put it into action. While we may not be able to create world peace, we can show the love of Jesus by being his hands and feet when the opportunity comes in our own lives. Maybe it’s volunteering at a soup kitchen, inviting lonely neighbors to dinner, or showing kindness to a stranger.

As children, we thought the best things in life were wrapped in shiny boxes topped with a perfect red bow. Now that we’re grown up, we know it’s things like peace, hope, and love. It’s special moments like being surrounded by friends and family. It’s having our health and a strong relationship with Jesus too. Those are the best gifts that don’t come perfectly wrapped.

May this Christmas be filled with love, joy, and peace. May we all take Amy’s words to heart and find a way to spread the love of Jesus this Christmas season.

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law,” Galatians 5:22-23.

Crowder - Thanks Giver

You are a ‘thanks giver’? I imagine after listening to ‘Thanks Giver’ by Crowder, you will wholeheartedly agree that you are! You’ll want to add this beautiful song about God, love, and gratitude to your playlist for the Christmas season or maybe add it to your playlist to play year around. Believe it. It’s that great of a song.

“You make joy out of simple and ordinary things.
You fill life up with stories I'd never think to dream
So this holiday, I wanna praise the One who's making a saint out of this sinner.
The One who's turned me into this thanks giver.”

The Crowder band is consists of David Crowder, who is a Texas-based singer and songwriter. His faith-based music is well known for its unique mix of pop, folk, rock, and electric bluegrass. Who knew you could take distinct and different styles of music and mix these different sounds into one song?

It’s one of the many reasons Crowder has won numerous music awards! What makes Crowder’s music so unique is how he got his career started in the first place. When he was attending college, he realized very few of his friends were attending church on a regular basis. He felt drawn to begin writing music that would appeal to his peer group.

The passion he has for telling others about the love of Jesus hasn’t changed. It’s still more evident than ever, especially in this song, ‘Thanks Giver.’ In this festive video, the band is surrounded by piles of snow and trees. David’s voice draws you in, and the lyrics hit your heart about how much we have to be thankful for.

No doubt, by the time the chorus line hits, you’ll be humming right along. We hope this video brighted your day and helped you find more reasons to give thanks to our good Lord.

“The Lord your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing,” Zephaniah 3:17.
