The Light Has Come | Your Nightly Prayer

Lord, This Advent season, help me resist the urge to only pray for my darkness to disappear. Instead, teach me to seek Your light within it. Just as Jesus prayed, “Not as I will, but as You will,” help me to submit to Your plan with faith and trust. Thank You for using my hardships to reveal Your peace, presence, and power. I praise You for being the Light of the World — the One who brings joy, hope, and transformation even in my darkest moments. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer to Find Delight in the Lord | Your Daily Prayer

Lord, Forgive me for the times I complain or chase after fulfillment in things that cannot satisfy. I confess my discontent and turn my eyes back to You, the only source of true joy. Help me to delight in You — to find peace, pleasure, and purpose in Your presence alone. Transform my desires so they reflect Your heart. Teach me to rest in gratitude, even in the ordinary, knowing that life with You is my greatest gift. May my contentment in You shine as a testimony of Your goodness and grace. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer to Thank Veterans for Their Service | Your Daily Prayer

Dear Father, Thank You for the brave men and women who have served our country in the Armed Forces. We are grateful for their courage, sacrifice, and devotion. On this Veterans Day, we ask that You surround them with Your peace and comfort as they reflect on their service. For those who carry physical, emotional, or spiritual wounds from war, pour out Your healing power. Wrap them in Your compassion and restore their hearts and minds. Let today be a reminder that their sacrifice has not gone unnoticed — by their nation, or by You. Bless every veteran and their families with strength, hope, and assurance that You are with them always. May we, too, honor them through our gratitude and prayers. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

This Unexpected Interaction Between Cook and Customer Will Melt Your Heart

This unexpected interaction between a cook and a customer will melt your heart. Likely no one saw this exchange between the two men coming, but it was truly sweet and touching. Watch the short but heartwarming clip to see what brought about the surprising move between the two.

This world is a fallen, lost place and broken beyond repair. Likewise, it’s full of people who are lost, hurting and struggling, often scratching and crawling, hoping to make it through another day. Many are searching here and there for something, anything that will provide even a second’s worth of temporary relief.

Sadly, most of those who are hurting and struggling do so in silence, never letting on what they are going through. To make it even worse, hurt and need are all around us – in a coworker, a neighbor, a family member or a friend. We can never be sure what someone is going through or what they may be dealing with in their present situation.

Everybody is fighting an invisible battle, and with a little kindness, love and grace, we can make a world of difference to someone who is hurting and dealing with heartache. Offering someone something as simple as a hug can be huge, as a clip posted on social media seems to indicate.

In the short, 44-second video, one man quietly stands nearby as a second man works behind a stove and bags up his order. At different points through the clip, as the cook gathers the order, it appears they exchange a few words here and there.

At first glance, this seems to be a typical, everyday interaction, a customer picking up his order from a favorite restaurant. But then something truly unexpected happens.

Once the order is bagged up and ready for the customer, the cook opens up his arms to the customer, offering him a hug. The customer responds, welcoming the unexpected invitation of a hug. It quickly becomes clear that the customer badly needed a hug as he holds that embrace longer than expected.

We can never be sure what someone is dealing with or battling, but we can always be kind and show them love and grace.

Proverbs 11:17 “The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.”

Pilot Grabs Everyone’s Attention with Moving Words Before Takeoff

A pilot grabbed everyone’s attention with his moving words before takeoff. He delivered an unusual yet touching speech before the aircraft took off. Watch the short but powerful clip to listen to the pilot’s surprising but heartwarming words.

Traveling is something we are all familiar with, but few of us enjoy it. While a lot of those feelings depend on the chosen mode of transportation, getting from Point A to Point B is rarely, if ever, a fun time. Most of the time, people are simply hoping to get through their travel experience with as few disruptions, distractions and headaches as possible. We just want to reach our destination with our sanity still intact.

However, that is often a tall order, especially when it comes to flying. There are numerous hindrances and unnecessary holdups associated with air travel that most people would rather completely avoid flying altogether. But that is usually not the case, and despite everything horrible and irritating with flying, it’s often the most efficient mode of transportation.

Despite everything awful associated with flying, others may hate it for an entirely different, but very obvious reason. They, for whatever reason, have a fear of flying, which is understandable given how high and fast those planes are when in use. It’s honestly kind of frightening when you think about it, especially if you’re traveling internationally and will be over an ocean for long periods of time.

Well, in a clip posted on YouTube, a pilot came over the plane’s public address system and reassured his passengers that this was going to be a very safe flight. That was going to be the case for one very simple reason: his daughter. He mentioned that his little girl had just learned how to say ice cream, and he wanted nothing more than to get back to her and share a bowl with her.

What an unbelievably sweet moment! I’m sure anyone on that flight who might have been apprehensive about flying felt much better after the pilot’s words.

Ephesians 6:4 “And, you fathers, do not make your children angry: but give them training in the teaching and fear of the Lord.”

Grateful for the Growth We Can't See | Your Nightly Prayer

Dear God, When the weeds and chaos of life threaten to overwhelm me, remind me that You are still working. Help me to find strength and peace in Your promise that all things work together for good. Even when I can’t see the fruit of my faith, teach me to trust that You’re growing something beautiful beneath the surface. Strengthen me when I’m tempted to give up, and fill me with gratitude for the unseen work You’re doing in me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer to Redeem the Time When Every Day Feels the Same | Your Daily Prayer

God of every moment, Teach me to number my days with wisdom. Help me see that even in the ordinary rhythms of life, You are present and purposeful. When my days feel repetitive or dull, open my eyes to Your beauty and grace at work around me. Guard me from wasting time on things that don’t glorify You. Instead, help me to love others well, to serve with joy, and to use each opportunity to reflect Your goodness. May Your Spirit guide me to live intentionally — making the most of the time You’ve entrusted to me. Let my faithfulness today be an act of worship that honors You in all things. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

A Prayer to Love One Another | Your Daily Prayer

Love is the defining mark of a true follower of Christ — not just spoken love, but love that shows up in compassion, sacrifice, and everyday acts of care. In this touching daily prayer and devotional, Rachael Adams, host of The Love Offering, recalls the powerful example of love she witnessed while caring for her mother during a difficult hospital stay. Amid pain and uncertainty, she found beauty in the kindness exchanged between patients, families, and caregivers — living proof that love can flourish even in hardship. Jesus knew we would need each other. That’s why He gave His disciples this new command: to love one another as He has loved us. The early church lived this out so faithfully that they were recognized by outsiders for their radical generosity and unity (Acts 4:32–34). Their love wasn’t theoretical — it was tangible, visible, and transformative. When we choose to love others with that same self-giving, Christlike love, the world takes notice. Love is what sets us apart and points others to Jesus. Whether it’s a word of encouragement, an act of service, or simply showing up for someone in pain, every gesture of love testifies to the Gospel. The world is full of hurting hearts — people longing to know that someone cares. As followers of Christ, we have the privilege and calling to meet them with compassion, grace, and generosity. Love isn’t always easy, but it’s always worth it — because through love, others see Him. Today's Bible Reading: “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” – John 13:34–35 💡 Takeaway Truths Love is not a feeling; it’s a daily choice to act with compassion and grace. Christ’s command to love one another reveals our identity as His disciples. The world recognizes Jesus through the way believers love and care for others. 🙏 Let’s Pray Father, Thank You for showing me perfect love through Jesus. Forgive me when I choose selfishness over compassion. Open my eyes to those who are hurting and give me the courage to step in and love them well.
