In a world that often rushes past the quiet moments of our hearts, Brooke Robertson’s new single, ‘Hey God,’ has a powerful message in her new official music video. It arrives as a gentle yet profound reminder of God’s unwavering presence in our lives. After nearly four years away from singing, this Louisiana-based singer/songwriter graces us with a song that is both deeply personal and widely relatable.
The beauty of ‘Hey God’ lies not just in its melody but in its raw, heartfelt lyrics. This poignant country ballad takes us on a journey through Brooke’s own struggle with faith and grief.
In the wake of her aunt’s unexpected death, Brooke found herself in a period of silence and sorrow. She shares, “Our family entered one of the most challenging seasons we’ve faced when my aunt and spiritual mentor had a sudden brain bleed and passed away six months later. It’s hard when you believe for a miracle, and it doesn’t happen the way you hoped. I withdrew from talking to God for a short time, until He graciously helped me recall how my aunt prayed during her hardest moments.”
The lyrics of ‘Hey God’ offer a beautiful window into this experience. Brooke sings with a vulnerability that resonates deep.
‘I know it doesn’t matter
If my words are beautiful or barely put together
You still wanna hear me pray
Even if all I have to say is, 'Hey... God.'’
These lines echo a profound truth found in Scripture, captured perfectly in Romans 8:26: “In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.”
Brooke’s song reminds us that it’s not the elegance of our words but the sincerity of our hearts that reaches God. Even when we find ourselves unable to articulate our pain or confusion, God is always there, listening and understanding our deepest needs.
As you listen to this heartfelt song, let it be a reminder of God’s constant presence and the simplicity of approaching Him, no matter where you are or what you’re facing.

Put your faith in Christ, the Lord, He will be your power in your darkest hour and good things will happen when you trust in the Lord. Music, Vocals and Production by Ray Kayanek, Lyrics by Clare Steffen, as a part of the Round The Globe project.
An extraordinarily talented and gifted young woman, Ella Willken, turned in an excellent and chilling harp cover of the wildly popular praise and worship song “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord).”
The Lord has gifted select individuals with the ability to produce and compose sweet and ear-pleasing sounds. Some of those people can pick up any instrument and immediately play it. Others may have been blessed with the voice of an angel, and still others might be able to write some of the most moving, heartfelt lyrics you’ve ever heard.
Whatever their specific skills, musicians are talented people. It’s always beautiful to see when those blessed with musical talents use them to bring glory and honor to His name. In a clip posted on YouTube, Ella used an often forgotten and underutilized instrument to produce some beautiful sounds.
In the nearly three-and-a-half-minute clip, the young woman plucks and strums the harp, playing a tune that is very familiar to most: Matt Redman’s “10,000 Reasons (Bless the Lord).” This cover is sure to be unlike any other cover of the praise and worship song you’ve ever heard, and yet, it may be one of the most beautiful.
Even though the lyrics are not sung in the clip, you’ll likely find yourself providing the lyrics and the vocals. It’s one of those tunes that whenever you hear it, you can’t help but sing along, especially that lovely chorus.
“Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul
Worship His holy name
Sing like never before, O my soul
I’ll worship Your holy name”
Whether the young woman sings the lyrics or not, it’s abundantly clear that she is incredibly talented. The skill and precision she uses to play the harp are mind-blowing. Also, she never misses a note or plays a false chord throughout the clip.
Colossians 3:16 “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
In Anne Wilson’s stirring song ‘The Cross,’ she delivers a message of grace, hope, and redemption. Through her incredible new song, she reminds us of the love Jesus poured out for us on the cross and how it’s never too late to begin again.
The opening lines speak directly to the struggle many feel— heavy burdens that seem too overwhelming to carry. She sings, capturing the doubt that often creeps in during our darkest moments. But Anne lyrics remind us that our God is more powerful than our deepest shame: “Just bring it all to the cross.” No matter how far we’ve strayed, grace is always within reach.
The chorus powerfully declares, “Come and see a Savior’s love that would die to make you new.” Anne’s voice is filled with tender love and speaks of the mercy Jesus gives us. She reminds us the cross stands as the ultimate symbol of love, where Jesus paid the greatest price for us. This powerful chorus inspires us to see the love and sacrifice of Jesus in a new light, uplifting our spirits.
As the song unfolds, Anne tackles the lies we often believe—that we’ve wandered too far off or that grace is for someone else. But in her poignant reminder, she sings lyrics delivered with a reassuring tone, offering a lifeline for anyone who feels lost and extending an invitation to come home to the Savior who never turns His back on us.
The final verses of ‘The Cross’ drive home the sacrifice Jesus made for us all. “He was wounded for your wounds, pierced for all your sin.” Anne’s voice is filled with conviction, calling us to remember that we are worth the ultimate cost—His life. She reminds us to keep our eyes on Jesus instead of looking at our troubles. This song is a call to run to the cross, where we will find mercy and grace flowing freely for us.

Psalm 106:1 “Praise the LORD! Oh give thanks to the LORD, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!”
This video release is timed perfectly for the start of High School and College football programs across the US. Think of all the football players that are hitting the field this year with dreams of making “The” touchdown and giving thanks for the support and opportunities that brought them to that point. In this video, a high school football player describes how his team’s senior year is going to be incredible and how he prays when he scores. He is playing for his mama who passed away when she was 38 years old. She prayed for him each time he hit the field. His season is successful and he signs a college scholarship so he can continue to pray to God when he scores and to play for his mama.
